OPEC: From Founding to Present

The five leading oil producers (Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and Venezuela) meet in Baghdad to form the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. Their objective is to prevent the lowering of prices by the cartel of seven major oil companies: Standard Oil (later Chevron), Royal Dutch Shell, Mobil, Texaco, Gulf Oil, BP and Exxon.
