Life and Times of Jiang Qing, Mao's Last Wife

Jiang Qing was the last wife of Chinese leader Mao Zedong. She was a major leader in the Communist Party of China during the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). As a member of the political alliance the "Gang of Four," she maintained control over practically every social institution. After Mao's death, she lost power and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1983. She committed suicide in 1991.
