Jimmie Fox's Awesome Power Disply

Jimmie Foxx was no joke on the baseball field.

His power generated two world championships.

His 58 homers in 1932 almost caught Babe Ruth's record of 60.

His 534 career homers also stood second to Ruth upon Foxx's last season of 1945.

His Triple Crown in 1933 was a feat not even Ruth could reach.

And in 1951 Foxx landed in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

"In terms of first basemen â?? batting combined with fielding â?? I rate him as even with Lou Gehrig and greater than all the other first basemen who have played since then," Mark Millikin, author of  "Jimmie Foxx: The Pride of Sudlersville," told IBD.
