Sadat Assassination's Unrepentant Plotter

On Oct. 6, 1981, assassins posing as soldiers opened fire on Egyptian President Anwar Sadat as he watched a military victory parade to mark Egyptâ??s 1973 war with Israel.

The assassination ushered in three decades of rule by Sadatâ??s Vice President Hosni Mubarak. The assassination defined Egyptian, and in many ways, Middle Eastern politics for a generation.
