Like most people, Jonathan Massey thought he knew where Lyndon Baines Johnson was sworn in as president.
“It was a historic event. I thought the exact spot had been documented a long time ago, just like the swearing-in itself had been documented,” Massey said.
But it had not.
Everyone, of course, knew that Johnson had taken the oath of office aboard Air Force One as it sat parked on the east ramp at Dallas Love Field. The event took place on Nov. 22, 1963 — 48 years ago today — two hours after President John F. Kennedy had been fatally shot in Dealey Plaza.
