Arthur Miller's 'Hidden' Son a Lesson for All

It is only near the end of the recent HBO documentary, “Arthur Miller: Writer”, that we learn that Miller and his third wife Inge Morath in 1966 had a son Daniel with Down syndrome whom they placed in an institution soon after his birth and did not identify publicly for decades. Though the matter is but briefly referenced before the documentary turns back to Miller's writing career, it calls out for greater consideration. Decades after most institutions for persons with disabilities have been closed, Daniel Miller's life holds lessons for neurodiversity employment and inclusion today.
