1. 1973 NBA Championships
After playing High School and College basketball, Phil Jackson was drafted by the New York Knicks in 1967 and went on to establish himself as one of the NBA's leading substitutes and fan favorites, despite his playing time, which wasn't much.
Jackson was a key reserve on the Knicks 1973 team, winning the NBA title. Unfortunately due to medical issues he was forced into surgery and he missed out on the 1969-70 title run.
What happened next would really shock basketball fans.
2. Grabbing the bull by the horns
Jackson bounced around numerous low-level professional leagues before finally landing an assistant NBA coaching job with the Chicago Bulls in 1987.
