Danny Rolling: Inside Mind of Serial Killer

During 1998, I received permission from the Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Attorney General to correspond with Danny Rolling, known as the “Gainesville Ripper,” a convicted serial killer, who was awaiting execution on Florida's death row.

Rolling was arrested on Sept. 8, 1990, for a botched armed robbery unrelated to his murders, and while serving his prison sentence for the robbery, he was convicted for the murders of five female college students in Gainesville, Florida. Years later, he voluntarily provided a written confession that he had also killed three more people in Louisiana.

Rolling was 52 years old when executed by lethal injection in Florida on Oct. 25, 2006.
