DALLAS, March 14—Jack L. Ruby was sentenced today to die in the electric chair for the murder of Lee H. Oswald, accused assassin of President Kennedy.
The death penalty was fixed by a jury that returned a verdict of “murder with malice” against the 52â?yearâ?old nightclub operator. The jury deliberated 2 hours 19 minutes.
Ruby's lawyers denounced the verdict as a triumph for bigotry and said they would appeal.
