FALL RIVER -- After canvassing the Hebrew cemetery on McMahon Street, police said Wednesday 59 gravestones were defaced with anti-Semitic language and swastikas, more than double the number initially believed.
The Fall River Police Department continues to investigate the anti-Semitic writings as a hate crime. Investigators found additional defaced headstones during a row-by-row sweep of the cemetery Tuesday.
