Operators with the U.S. Army's 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) were showing their stripes in a fantastic way during a recent training exercise with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), wearing a mix of modern Multicam and Vietnam-era “Tiger Stripe” camouflage.
The throwback threads were spotted while NCOs from 5th Group conducted a two-week exercise with elements of the 101st, including cavalry units from the 101's 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
Sporting coyote brown helmets and Multicam plate carriers in addition to the unofficial camouflage of Vietnam-era SF, creating an aesthetically-pleasing mixture that will no doubt be replicated in the future.
