These 2 Murdered, Then Sold Bodies

In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, William Burke and William Hare recognized an opportunity. As far as the two were concerned, everyone in Edinburgh, Scotland, had something valuable if it was in the right condition: their bodies. For at least 16 unfortunate souls, this did not bode well. In 1827-1828, Burke and Hare made a healthy living when they murdered humans to sell to anatomists at the local university.
