French Capt LeRoy and Commandant Rose bribed a Soviet guard to let them inside the Fuhrerbunker in Berlin just after WWII ended. Most of the place had already been looted by ordinary Soviet soldiers as well as Soviet intelligence units, but LeRoy and Rose picked through the remains and grabbed a variety of documents.
Originally published in 2018, the first half of the book chronicles the last couple months of activity within the Chancelleries and the Fuhrerbunker, including construction, events, war conferences, fading plans, and final escapes and suicides. It's a good overview and reads well, so give Ms. Bell credit. There's not a whole lot of revelation, although the short profiles of various Nazi luminaries are interesting, but the accompanying photos complement the text marvelously.
