Just Say No Didn't Stop the Preppy Murderer

Victims of violent crimes often know their attacker. A disgruntled relative may attack for revenge. Former lovers want to keep the target’s love for themself. And sometimes the murderer believes their prey owes them something.
What could be owed to the villain? Some have said they believed the deceased should have loved them more. Others have argued they were owed intimacy by the victim.
Robert Chambers falls into the latter category of killers. When he was turned down by a friend, he killed her. As he faced charges for what he had done, Chambers and his attorneys sullied his victim’s reputation and name in the press.
All because she wouldn’t sleep with him.
