Families of China’s WWII ‘Comfort Women’ File Lawsuits

Landmark lawsuits filed in China by the families of late Chinese “comfort women” against the Japanese government could have legal implications for future compensation cases, according to a lawyer who represents the families. The 18 families filed the lawsuits in a court in China’s central Shanxi province in mid-April, which Chinese media said was the first legal action of its kind.
