National History Day’s Timely Lessons

From June 9-13th, the 50th annual National History Day competition will be held in College Park, Maryland, featuring nearly 3,000 student finalists. This is timely, vital work. As a long-ago social studies teacher, I’m admittedly biased, but that doesn’t change the fact that serious historical inquiry is vital if students are to fully appreciate our shared challenges, ties, and blessings.
