The Great Exhibition of 1851

The 1851 Great Exhibition was held in the purpose-built Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London, to showcase the latest developments in engineering, science, and the arts, as well as objects of cultural significance from Britainand abroad. Running from May to October, the exhibition was a huge success with more than 6 million people marvelling at the curiosities on show.
