Shouting “King George and Broadswords” a contingent of 600 Highlander-Americans clad in traditional Scottish Tartan charged Moore’s Bridge in the backwoods of North Carolina. Accompanied by 1,000 Loyalist allies, the Highlanders had answered the call to rise up against the rebellious Americans who had removed their British masters and established a new government in the 13 former colonies.
