Soviets Turn Back Blitzkrieg at Kursk

In July 1943, Soviet and German forces clashed in the largest tank battle in history. It was also the first time that a blitzkrieg attack was defeated before it could break through enemy lines. The victory gave the Red Army the strategic initiative on the Eastern Front for the rest of the war.
