Luftwaffe Begins London Blitz

The German Luftwaffe commenced bombing runs against the British capital on Sept. 7, 1941. During the London Blitz, Air Marshal Sir Arthur Harris witnessed the destruction. Soon he would be orchestrating similar attacks by the RAF on Germany, urged on by Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
