Dale Earnhardt's Fatal Crash at Daytona

On the final turn in the final lap of the 2001 Daytona 500, Dale Earnhardt's No. 3 car crashed head-on into the track wall, and despite walking away from the wreck and offering a thumbs up, Earnhardt was pronounced dead at a local Daytona hospital shortly after.
